Rise-LAB Diversity Circle - Kickoff Event on Friday, April 10, 15:00
Academic careers are rarely just about research. They are shaped by unspoken dynamics, moments of self-doubt, and questions that feel too vague to bring to a supervisor. Rise-LAB was created to make space for exactly those things, within our faculty.
On April 10, AG Diversity at FEI is hosting the kickoff Diversity Circle event for early-stage researchers at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Come with a question, a concern, or simply curiosity. Leave with concrete tools, new perspectives, and a stronger network inside FEI.
Referent/Referentin
Speakers
Prof. Dr. Lynda Hardman (CWI / Utrecht University) has spent decades advancing research in multimedia and human-computer interaction while actively working to improve the conditions under which researchers, particularly women, build careers in computing.
Prof. Dr. Jana Hutter (Leibniz Universität Hannover / King's College London) works at the intersection of AI and medical imaging, and brings a strong commitment to early-career researchers and underrepresented voices in science.
We will be offering guided reflection and practical strategies tailored to the challenges researchers actually face.
Optional Reflection Hike A relaxed morning hike on April 11 for those who want to continue the conversation — no agenda, no pressure.
Registration is required. You can register and submit your topic on our homepage: https://riselab-fei.org/ .
