Maja Stahl from the NLP Group at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence receives the Outstanding Master Thesis Prize 2021/2022, awarded by the university society of Paderborn University.
Maja finished her master's thesis at Paderborn University about a year ago. As part of her thesis research, she developed computational methods to assess and to mitigate a specific type of gender bias found in natural language text, which is reflected in the agency and power of verbs. The results of her thesis have meanwhile been published at the international renowned NLP+CSS workshop.
