NextGenPV is a Lower Saxony competence network for next-generation photovoltaics. The project focuses on highly efficient and stable perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells as a promising technology for a decarbonized energy supply.

The project combines expertise from physics, chemistry, engineering, materials science and sustainability research. Its main goals are to develop stable perovskite absorbers, integrate them into efficient solar cells and modules, prepare scalable manufacturing processes, and assess environmental safety, life cycle impacts and recycling concepts.

By strengthening cooperation between research institutions and industry, NextGenPV supports the development of sustainable photovoltaic technologies and their future implementation.
